What Category Management contributes to Cardinal Health Category management is responsible for cross functional collaboration that helps to deliver sales, profitability and inventory productivity goals by capitalizing on retail marketplace and shopper trends in designated categories. Manages and optimizes supplier relationships and product portfolio to drive financial results, increase market share and exceed customer expectations. Accountabilities Assist in the daily sales and profitability of assigned category through analysis of performance data, planning promotional activities and sales events for assigned categories Analyze business and market trends to recommend new strategies for increased sales Responsible for monthly ad management, including but not limited to product selection, pricing and profitability analysis Assist marketing department in digital marketing efforts, tradeshows and communications management Owns and optimizes the category assortment planning and planogram review process. Initiates, negotiates and drives execution of category promotional plans Maintains positive trade relations and fosters key supplier relationships. Assesses opportunities and gains competitive advantage in negotiations Develops and deploys strategic category plans & innovative merchandising programs to deliver industry leading results. Obtains category/product expertise, in-depth market and competitive intelligence and knowledge Qualifications A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Finance is required A minimum of two (2) to four (4) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot table and v-lookup's) is required.
