The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of activities, including but not limited to, overseeing and directing the Facilities Management Team and the Campus Services Groups, coordinating major capital projects, and participating in the implementation of the sustainability program. This position requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a close cooperation with the Vice President of Administration and Finance and other college leaders. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, and/or management, at least 10 years' of experience in facility management or related fields, and a strong commitment to customer service.
The role also involves managing a comprehensive deferred maintenance plan, setting clear directions for the organization, and implementing management control systems. The candidate should be a proven manager with the ability to motivate and support the professional development of their team. Strong financial skills, the ability to think strategically, and a vision for long-range planning are essential. The role requires excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to remain abreast of industry developments to improve operational efficiency. The Associate Vice President will be expected to interact with a diverse range of constituents and represent the college in a professional and informed manner.
