Job Description: The Buyer II is responsible for the procurement and negotiation of materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors to support business operations. This role involves evaluating vendor quotes and services to identify and select the most desirable suppliers. The Buyer II will work under general supervision and must utilize their experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals.
Key Responsibilities: Purchase and negotiate materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.Assess and compare vendor quotes, prices, and services to identify the best suppliers.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and ensure timely delivery.Prepare purchase orders and ensure accurate documentation of transactions.Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.Manage relationships with vendors to maintain strong partnerships.Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and new products.Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.Maintain procurement records and prepare reports as needed. Required Qualifications: Education: High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree (BS) in a related field is preferred.Experience: 2-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field.Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of standard procurement concepts, practices, and procedures.Ability to evaluate and negotiate with vendors effectively.Basic knowledge of purchasing software and systems.Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess vendor performance.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.A certain degree of creativity and latitude in problem-solving.
