The CFO will be a key strategic partner, working closely with the Board and the President to ensure the financial well-being and long-term sustainability of the organization. This role demands a dynamic, hands-on leader with a high EQ, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in financial management, business strategy, and nonprofit accounting. The CFO will be responsible for leading a finance team, overseeing all financial activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Clear and frequent communication with the management team and the Board is essential, as is the ability to provide strategic advice and support the organization's mission.
Candidates for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a CPA or MBA. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial role within a nonprofit organization with a budget of at least $15M is required. The CFO must be proficient in financial systems, preferably NetSuite, and have a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting best practices. Impeccable leadership skills are a must, as the role involves mentoring and managing a large finance team.
