Join us and start doing your life?s best work.(sm) Primary Responsibilities: • Receive / make phone calls to customers using relevant systems to request payment for services • Receive and/or process credit card payments and / or electronic funds transfers within applicable systems • Perform data queries using relevant systems (e.g., AccPac; Onyx; Salesforce; Phoenix; GPS; Collections Softcall) to identify applicable information (e.g., contracts; pre-sales information; legal notes; revenue notes) • Review account information in order to educate external customers regarding outstanding accounts / balances • Evaluate account information (e.g., number of invoices; date past due; previous payment history; type of product; different contact; billing addresses) to determine payment issues and possible root causes • Create and distribute correspondence to customers to inform them of needed actions (e.g., reminder of payment due; final demand for payment) • Communicate with external collection vendors to exchange information about actions being taken to collect on accounts regarding outstanding or past due balances • Record correspondence information within relevant collection • Manage delinquency suppressions for external customers to send accurate notifications and correspondence • Gather / research relevant customer information (e.g., financial situation; press releases; credit report) to identify potential payment issues and financial risks • Review customer account information (e.g., outstanding balance; days past due) to determine whether to pursue potential negotiation • Provide suggestions and potential solutions to internal stakeholders and / or external customers to resolve disputes • Gather / seek additional information from applicable systems to further investigate customers' concerns or complaints ? ENGLISH PROFICIENCY ASSESSMENT WILL BE REQUIRED AFTER APPLICATION ? Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma / GED (or higher) • 1 years as a collections/billing representative • 1 years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems OR 1 years of experience in an office setting environment using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties • Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents, spreadsheets and presentations) • Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications. • Bilingual English and Spanish Preferred Qualifications: • Associate?s Degree • Patient financial services • ICD-10 / CPT Knowledge Careers with Optum.
