Description GPI seeks a payroll specialist to work with the Corporate Human Resources Team in our corporate office in Babylon, NY. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Human Resources and be responsible for the bi-weekly payroll of four companies, made up of 1800+ employees, under tight deadlines. You will work with branch administrators and external vendors.

Responsibilities: Handling all payroll-related functions for the Company Process payroll, including retro pay adjustments, third-party sick pay, year-end tax reporting, and respond to payroll and tax-related inquiries from agencies and employees Accurately preparing, documenting, distributing, and reconciling the Companies payroll Compile and maintain employee payroll data and records Coordinate the timesheet process Oversee and reconcile payroll to general ledger accounts Ensure data transfer from payroll system to third party providers are accurate and running efficiently Periodically audit processes to ensure effectiveness and work with the Corporate Payroll team and branch support when changes are made Support the annual third-party audit process Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience in the industry Payroll/Accounting background required Five (5) plus years of experience in multi-state, multi-company Payroll Specialist positions; compensation modeling is a plus Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must Must be able to prioritize tasks and be very detail-oriented Proficiency with UKG Ready is required Experience with Deltek VantagePoint is preferred Experience with SUI/SIT Taxes and garnishments Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred HRIS Experience is preferred Member of the American Payroll Association is a plus Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English languageBasic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
