Responsibilities: Candidate to act as a Dental Hygienist at Henry M. Client School of Dental Medicine. A licensed Dental Hygienist is a member of the dental team responsible for the preventative aspects of oral health care. Licensed Dental Hygienists provide clinical, education and therapeutic services that promote optimal oral health. Provide dental education by reviewing home care, oral hygiene instructions and reviewing treatment plans with the patient. Provide clinical services by exposing radiographs, performing dental cleanings, performing scaling and root planning by administering local anesthesia, dispense fluoride and administer therapeutic agents. Follow and practice all OSHA standards regarding infection control and blood borne pathogens, inspect instruments for sterility, and perform sterilization and operatory disinfection responsibilities before and after each patient. Practice universal precautions. Collect patient and clinical data by reviewing and updating medical history, identifying contradictions and requesting medical clearance as necessary. Performing oral cancer screenings, perio assessments and charting dental findings. Set-up and breakdown of operatories and treatment bays before and after each patient. Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling). Adheres to patient privacy policies in accordance with HIPAA. Requirements: Vocational, Technical or Associates Degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience. Licensure as a Dental Hygienist under the state of Massachusetts. VENDOR shall ensure that all personnel assigned to UNIVERSITY have current licensing and/or certification throughout the term of the assignment.
Provide Proof of Immunity (provider documentation or lab report) for the following: Measles, Mumps Rubella (MMR) vaccine #1 and #2 dates or titers indicating immunity; Hepatitis B - vaccine #1, #2, and #3 dates and Hepatitis B Surface Antibody titer indicating immunity, signed declination, or lab results indicating disease history; Varicella-zoster (Chicken Pox) - vaccine #1 and #2 dates; or provider documentation of disease, or titer indicating immunity; Adacel (Tdap; tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) given since 2005; Recent Tuberculosis (TB) skin test results, which is to be given once per year. Documentation of TST results must include dates given and read, and the millimeter (mm) of induration.
