Development Director

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced fundraising professional to lead the development function for an arts-related nonprofit organization in the Bay Area. This is a full-time role reporting to the Executive Director, with the salary range of $150,000 - $175,000, depending on experience.
The primary responsibility is to develop and implement strategies to increase funding via individual giving, corporate and major gift donors, and grants. The Director will build on our track record of successful events, and our ties with sophisticated donors and board members. The Development Director will also identify new funding sources, cultivate relationships, write grants, ensure consistent follow-up communications, and effective communications with various audiences. The Development Director supervises a small team and ensures accurate development operations, tracking, and reporting. The Development Director works closely with the Executive Director on development aspects of board relations and the organization's external communications.
This position requires routine in-person work both on-site and to meet at various Bay Area locations with potential donors and funding agencies.
Qualifications Include: At least 5 years directly-related fundraising experience, demonstrating first-hand knowledge of best practices.Measurable impact/growth resulting from fundraising efforts.Effectiveness and sensitivity working with diverse communities and various constituencies.Outstanding written and oral communication skills.Proficiency with donor management software.About the Organization: This is a well-funded non-profit organization with excellent benefits package and work environment.
