Position Summary & Duties:
POSITION SUMMARY
The E&I Drafter position is a direct-hire position working for HGA in our office in The Woodlands, TX. The E&I Drafter position performs a variety of drafting duties. Prepares drawings in accordance with the appropriate drafting standards. Supports a team of designers and/or engineers to produce department deliverables for multiple projects.
E&I Drafter Responsibilities
•Work under supervision of Department Design Supervisor and/or other designers.
•Learn and follow Company and/or Client Drafting Standards and design practices.
•Revise electrical and instrumentation drawings in AutoCAD based on hand markups from design team.
•Add or modify components to 3D models as directed.
•Revise electrical and instrumentation schedules, lists and other deliverables utilizing MS Word and MS Excel based on hand markups from design team.
•Assist in preparation of drawing packages, including plotting drawings, making copies, assembling drawings & document packages and assuring package completeness.
•Assist engineers and/or designers in completing field work as required to obtain measurements and sketches for design work. This work could involve climbing stairs and ladders to reach elevated platforms.
•Assist in filling out and maintaining drawing and equipment request forms.
•Be able to read a scale and draw to scale.
•Complete work in an accurate, efficient manner. Thoroughness and attention to detail required.
Qualifications: E&I Drafter Experience Requirements:
•2 year technical degree from an accredited University or trade school.
•0-2 years drafting experience required.
•Prior Electrical/Instrumentation Drafter experience preferred.
•Proficient in AutoCAD 2017 or newer version with ability to produce 2D drawings.
•Experience in 3D modeling required. Experience with CADWorx a plus.
•Experience with MS Windows, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Access and MS Word.
•Candidates must be able to commute to our Houston office on a daily basis.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Ability to manage time and resources efficiently.
•Capability and willingness to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
•Knowledge of loop and one-line diagrams preferred.
