General Description:
Perform quantitative analyses using statistical analysis software.
Develop, interpret, and implement mathematical and statistical methods.
Provide support on the administration of the Governance, Risk & Compliance application.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:
Gather, evaluate, and relay both internal and economic data to predict different types of risks by making use of econometric and statistical methods
Analyze data using statistical analysis software such as R, SAS, Strata, or SPSS
Develop predictive and forecasting models applied to Banking and Finance
Provide analytical support and document models compliant with model validation requirements.
Provide support on the administration of the Governance, Risk & Compliance application.
Support the development of projects that promote good governance and efficiencies in risk management through Popular.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor or master’s degree in quantitative fields such as Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics, with at least two years related experience.
Other Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Course work in Calculus, Financial Mathematics, Financial Accounting, Macro and Micro Economics, Programming, Probability, and Statistics.
Ability to develop quantitative analyses. Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SAS, MatLab, or Python.
Experience in applied numerical methods such as Logistic Regression and Linear Regression.
Knowledge in database management.
Knowledge in access and other programming languages such as SQL, desirable.
General knowledge of laws, regulations and practices applicable to the financial industry, financial markets, financial analysis, and reporting of financial data.
Excellent organization skills, able to establish priorities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to analyze business results, to identify problems and propose solutions.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
