We currently seeking for a Geotechnical Project Engineer to work with our team on an exciting Reservoir Project in Southwest Florida outside of LaBelle. The candidate will act as the Lead Field Inspector for the construction of earthen dams. We offer a competitive compensation package including full benefits and per-diem. Responsibilities: Provide civil/geotechnical engineering support to project teams and assist with delivery geotechnical and geologic projects to tetra Tech's public and private sector clients Provide oversight, leadership, and mentoring support to a team of experienced construction inspectors during the construction of 19 miles of earthen dams Support Quality Assurance teams with field construction inspections and testing Management of a variety of field work activities Work closely as a team member with Construction Managers and the Quality Assurance Team Collaboration and participation in technical discussions with Wood team members Requirements: BS in Civil Engineering, Geotech/Mining Engineering or related engineering discipline 5 years' experience in geotechnical engineering and field investigations Strong academic background and solid understanding of soil mechanics and local Florida soils and geology Currently EIT registered Experience with levees and dams a must Experience with soil bentonite cut off walls is highly desirable Additional experience with field investigations and laboratory testing Good communication, report writing, interpersonal and presentation skills Superior time management, planning and ability to interact with clients Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Compensation for lodging and per diem provided Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy About Tetra Tech: Tetra Tech is a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide.
