As our Government Grants Specialist, you'll be at the heart of our grant administration, working closely with an enthusiastic team and key government partners. Your mission? To ensure seamless implementation and stellar outcomes for our grant-funded initiatives!

Position Summary: The Government Grants Specialist oversees the administration of Aspire's federal grants. In partnership with Aspire team members and government funding entities, the Government Grants Specialist will ensure the smooth implementation and outcomes of grant activities. The Government Grants Specialist is responsible for collecting data, measuring effectiveness, and maintaining transparency and integrity across Aspire's grant-funded programs. This position will also be responsible for reporting and stewardship of grants with public funding entities at the federal, state, county, and local level.

Position Responsibilities: The following represents the primary position responsibilities, but other related duties necessary to meet the needs of the organization may be assigned.

Grant Implementation and Monitoring Support the coordination and administration of competitive federal, state, and/or local government grants. Manage relationships with government funding entities to maintain transparency and integrity of the organization. Collect and manage data pertaining to government grant-funded programs. Ensure reports and data submitted to grantors is on time and accurate (monthly, quarterly, trimester, or final reports). Compare, review, and enter grant data into grantor software systems; review data for accuracy and work with program leads to address inaccurate or missing data. Maintain thorough understanding of grant management principles and current federal regulations. Evaluate program effectiveness based on best practice evaluation tools and methodologies. Team Collaboration and Management Serve as liaison between internal Aspire teams and government funding entities to ensure smooth implementation of grant activities. Maintain Grant Cycle Calendar and work with program team to meet grant deadlines for government and reporting. Collaborate with Program Director to ensure that grant program services are delivered in compliance with grant guidelines and meet the stated outcomes, flag grant underperformance and compliance issues to program managers and the program director. Ensure proper tracking of expenditures and grant funds as well as maintaining detailed records to report and match with the budgeting within the grant(s). Partner with grant evaluator to collect program data and implement program improvements. Collaborate within the Philanthropy team toward overall fundraising and organizational goals. Promote a positive culture that aligns with Aspire's shared values during all interactions with Aspire stakeholders. Actively participate in professional development to enhance knowledge. Requirements

Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Public administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Nonprofit Management, or related field. 2 years of experience in nonprofit or government work. 2 years experience with publicly funded compliance and grant management, preferably with government grants. Additional Licensing/Certifications: Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Experience with program evaluation, dashboard creation, and data analysis Exceptional written skills Strong understanding of accounting principles and ability to create and analyze complex financial reports Very detail-oriented and able to manage multiple, high-level projects Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills Effective oral communication skills Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Experience managing large-scale government grants Experience in grant writing and relationship management Aspire Values (POWER): P = We believe anything is possible O = We all own it W = We welcome everyone E = We evolve and try new things R = We build powerful relationships
