Position Summary
The IT Business Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between IT and business operations by leveraging technology to meet organizational goals. This role involves analyzing business needs, defining requirements, ensuring the successful implementation of IT projects, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver valuable software solutions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering: Conduct detailed interviews and analysis to understand and translate business needs into IT requirements. Field Product support requests and work with business resources to determine priority and area of resolution.
Documentation: Create clear, concise, comprehensive business and functional requirements and knowledge base documents.
Process Mapping: Develop detailed process maps to document business processes, workflows, and systems.
Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders, including business users, IT teams, and third-party vendors.
Data Analysis: Perform data analysis to support business decisions and identify areas for improvement.
Product Vision: Help to define and communicate the product vision strategy in alignment with the business objectives
Backlog Management: Assist in creating, prioritizing, and maintaining the product backlog, ensuring it reflects stakeholder requirements and business priorities.
User Stories: To guide development teams, write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
Sprint Planning: Attend sprint planning sessions and other Agile meetings, ensuring the team is clear on goals and deliverables.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with product development teams to develop and execute test plans to ensure products meet specified requirements and standards.
Product Lifecycle Management: Help manage the product lifecycle from ideation to deployment, including post-launch analysis and enhancements.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field or 10 years equivalent experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in business analysis in IT and Software Development environments.
Technical Proficiency: Understanding software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and project management tools.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the Managed Print industry is a plus. Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Miro board tools
