Job Description: - The Systems Engineer DevOps provides management, automation and orchestration of web and mobile application servers, runtime environments and services. The System Engineer responds to, monitors, escalates and resolves operational issues and works to build automated remediation of issues. The Systems Engineer collaborates with development teams and engagement teams to continuously deliver and integrate applications and infrastructure as code that support business requirements. The position aids in delivery of engineering, automation, orchestration configuration, monitoring, optimization, and operational support functions of the DevOps team.
Principal Duties:
Provide support for all technical aspects of platform configuration and its automation. Perform hands-on architecture, design and development of multi-tenant provisioning systems.
Provide continuous support for ongoing application availability and monitor, escalate and resolve operational issues.
Work closely with product owners on feature sets that impact multiple platforms and products, as well as to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and managing a list of technical requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects and issue.
Apply IT security standards and practices as well as adhere to these standards in the development and design of new and existing technologies within our corporate and store infrastructure.
Collaborate with development and business teams to prioritize and deliver application and infrastructure enhancements and optimizations to support business needs.
Integrate enterprise-wide tools for automating, orchestrating, securing, monitoring, and managing the current and future infrastructure technology.
Administer support and maintain infrastructure components. Troubleshoot high-level hardware and software problems and document procedures to guide resolution process.
Ensure security posture is maintained and improved through continuous delivery of application and infrastructure security enhancements.
Partner with internal and external development teams to provide enhancements necessary to address expanding business needs and expedite the delivery of solutions through automation and orchestration.
Assist in the continuous improvement of standards to enable a more customer focused, responsive department. Help drive consistent operational practices.
Aid in the creation of production support models and process designed to enhance response times and maintain high availability of all production application environments.
Help create and sustain a stable infrastructure and runtime environment for application deployments.
Research, evaluate and stay current on emerging tools, techniques and technologies; maintain skills and capabilities through education, training and hands-on experience. Assist in identification of opportunities to adopt innovative technologies. Accept new responsibilities, as required, to enable business growth.

Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or technical discipline (e. g. engineering) or commiserate experience.
Experience building support processes and writing technical support documentation.
Familiarity with infrastructure design, monitoring and troubleshooting.
Deep knowledge of web and server technology.
Experience developing and administering web servers and application server technologies. (e. g Apache/Tomcat, IIS, Jetty, Glassfish)
Familiarity with Infrastructure as a Service environments (e. g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure)
Linux systems administration, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS preferred.
Practical experience with runtime environments, systems management, and infrastructure as code.
Strong background with TCP/IP protocols and management of web applications.
Familiarity building and automating cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure preferred.
Knowledgeable with encryption standards and PKI.
Proven experience scripting and coding in a programming language (e. g. Python, Java, Ruby)
Relevant experience securing server and application environments.
Experience with security and threat detection tools.
Proven experience using monitoring tools (e. g. Solarwinds, LogRhythm, CloudWatch, AppDynamics, LogStash,)
Understanding of standard support frameworks. (e. g., ITIL)
Familiarity with Continuous Integration /Continuous Delivery frameworks (e. g Jenkins), Configuration management tools (e. g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible), and Version Control systems (e. g. GIT, SVN)
Understanding of compliancy standards.
Experience with PCI-DSS standards preferred.
