Location: Santa Monica, CA (Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote. Must be Local!!)
Basic Function The Junior/ Mid-level Industrial Designer supports the design and development of new packaging solutions and improvements. This position assists in taking products from concept through production while working under the guidance of senior team members. The role requires a foundational understanding of design principles, a keen eye for aesthetics, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Knowledge of molding, plastics, and printing basics is beneficial.

Assist in Evaluating Packaging Solutions: Support the evaluation of current and proposed packaging solutions, considering factors like appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, materials, and production costs.Conceptualization and Sketching: Conceptualizes, illustrates, and communicates new product concepts through quick sketching, mockups, 3D modeling, and renderings.Client Interaction: Attend onsite/ offsite client meetings. Must be comfortable communicating and presenting designs and models.Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure design consistency and support the implementation of key design features.Research: Participates in creation of concept research product definition: customer needs, idea generation, feasibility, specifications, concept visions and models in a team environment.Analysis: Performs technical analysis of competitive products and analyzes competitive trends/ activities by visiting retail stores.Support Client Presentations: Assist in preparing and presenting design concepts to clients, both onsite and offsite, as needed.Project Assistance: Provide support in the development and refinement of product designs, ensuring they align with brand standards and manufacturability.Learning and Development: Continuously improve design skills and knowledge through collaboration and feedback from senior designers.
