The successful candidate will be a key leader, resource, and mentor for a team of Associate Director-level fundraising professionals. This role involves creating and implementing effective prospect strategies, managing the day-to-day activities of the team, and fostering a culture of learning and development. The Managing Director will also collaborate with various departments, including Research, Prospect Management, the College Fund, and Planned Giving, to ensure the team is leveraging all available resources and opportunities. Additionally, the role includes managing a small portfolio of prospects and leading the development and execution of strategies with these individuals.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years experience in university fundraising or a related field. The position requires the ability to travel approximately 35% of the time and a strong commitment to the values of respect, inclusion, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising, the ability to assess and meet the training needs of the team, and a talent for strategic planning and execution. A background in prospect management, and research, and a deep understanding of the philanthropic landscape are essential.
