Summary/Objective

The manufacturing operator will be responsible to operate, setup, clean and assemble process equipment to support an efficient pharmaceutical plant operation. All job functions will be completed in accordance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), federal and state laws, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, health authority regulations, and departmental processes.

Responsibilities

Performs the equipment cleaning, disassembly, assembly, set-up, operation, and problem solving processes when required as per SOPs of various systems and equipment including: blenders, coaters, tablet pressers, fluid bed dryers, ovens, bin lifters, pumps and dust collection systems.
Will be the main line of defense to assure the process is executed as validated following applicable SOPs and practices.
Must have a strong sense of ownership and understand that s/he is accountable for any event that occurs during the manufacturing process. This includes that all documentation is accurate and completed and adheres to daily work assignments, ensuring that work is completed on time. Knows and complies with: Romark’s quality compliance policies, SOPs Current Good Manufacturing Practices, Housekeeping Practices, Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Rules. Be alert to what it is considered acceptable or unacceptable. Escalates any potential problems to Manufacturing Supervisor for investigation or resolution.
Provides technical support, and problem solving guidance in issues identified before and after projects.
Keeps up to date with the required technology to execute the assigned role, and suggests training that will support self-development.
Performs readings and measurements.
Exhibits safe work habits (lock out tag out) when handling equipment and tools and by correctly using protective safety equipment.
Responds to and participates in the timely execution of critical priority jobs.
Stays current with the plant’s training curriculum and certifications requirements.
Adheres to and must be flexible to work any day of the week, any shift including rotating schedules and holidays as required by plant needs.
Perform any other related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

Technical School diploma or Associate degree (or equivalent) in areas related to electronics, mechanics, electricity or computer systems. Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of work related experience in the pharmaceutical industry. A combination of experience and/or education will be take into consideration.
Must possess knowledge of manufacturing processes and have a strong mechanical background.
Must have experience working with manufacturing equipment including but not limited to blenders, coaters, tablet pressers, fluid bed dryers, ovens, bin lifters, pumps and dust collection systems.
Experienced in the use of (HMI) Human / Machine Interface systems.
Experienced working with ERP systems, GMP manufacturing environment preferred.
Must possess knowledge of cGMP, SOP and OSHA requirements for manufacturing facilities.
Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in both English and Spanish.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Proven experience in problem solving, planning, organizing, and time management preferred.
Ability to apply the concepts of basic mathematics such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
Have the ability to work in a variety of team settings. Strong team player.
Must have a strong sense of ownership and understand that s/he is accountable for any event that occurs during the manufacturing process.
