Job description Ethos has an exciting opportunity for a Master Electrician to help Ethos grow and develop a robust Solar service line, while supporting our Telecommunications construction team. We are looking for a creative, driven person who is willing to work in a hands-on field role in both solar and telecom. There is an immediate need in our telecom business and a growing need in solar. You will have a chance to lead, coach and develop electrician apprentices into journeymen while building the business. Essential Skills and Abilities: Extensive knowledge of national, state, and local code Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in accordance with NEC Highest level of compliance with safety and security procedures Operate with safety as a primary concern for self, team and customer Ability to work independently with sound and accurate judgment Ability to work in inclement weather and varying hours of the day based on crews or customers needs Ability to operate office equipment, including computers and email Extremely detail oriented with ability to positively and interact with co-workers and participate in meetings Attends and stays compliant with security, safety, OSHA, and code compliance training and promptly informs the supervisor of any accidents and/or damages to supplies or equipment or of any observed unsafe practices and/or procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures. Uses data to anticipate and respond quickly to systems and equipment. Confers with others to coordinate activities of individual departments Identify materials and quantities needed for new and repair projects Evaluate customer requests and provide project bids Assist with loading or unloading of construction materials Assist trade workers as necessary Train and supervise journeymen and apprentices on team Install, maintain, and repair existing equipment Determine condition of electrical equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and determine needed repairs Run tests on electrical components to ensure a safe and effective installation Inspect electrical systems and equipment for any damage, malfunctions, and safety hazards Knowledge and or experience working with medium voltage up to 35kV Runs new service up to 3,000 amps on secondary side Installs, repairs or replaces, modifies, and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls located in and near installation buildings, and structures associated with test cell facilities Maintains and operates secondary switchgear, Uninterruptible Power Source (UPS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) Systems and associated batteries, distribution lines, 3000 amps kVA[OWR1] (Kilo Volt Amperes) and larger electrical load centers providing technical and utility power. Works on secondary distribution lines and circuits used to supply distribution panels, switchgears, power and control circuits, electrical Maintains, operates, and repairs medium voltage systems and components Troubleshoots problem areas and specialized equipment test cells Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to recommend proper repairs and/or replacements. Test, repairs, modifies and overhauls a variety of equipment such as AC/DC motors, alternators, transformers, generators, remote controls, relays, power control panels, and electrically powered equipment. Tests for and diagnoses malfunctions using whatever means necessary to effectively diagnose, correct the malfunction and return the equipment to full operation at the OEM specifications. Locates the causes of malfunctions, recommends repairs required, disassembles where necessary, repairs or replaces worn or damaged parts, reassembles and test equipment for proper operation. Proficient in the use of all associated electrical table tools knowing the correct electrical tools associated with the type of electrical work being performed to include specialized test equipment and software programs. Uses and assures proper fit of required PPE safety equipment and clothing. Follows and adheres to NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace guidelines. Follows established processes and procedures Required Experience and Educations: 5+ years bid generation experience 5+ years of experience performing industrial electrician duties Colorado Licensed Master Electrician in good standing Certificates and Licenses: Colorado Master Electrician License Required Valid Drivers License Computer Skills: Bid Software Microsoft Dynamics Microsoft Office Applications Standard Office Equipment Physical Demands: Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance) Ability to work safely in a branch/warehouse/rooftop environment Ability to work on various angles and surfaces Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions Travel: 50-75 travel in state 25% out-of-state travel required
