WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Meeting Assistance Assembles and distributes agenda; takes dictation and transcribes notes, follows through on details, secured required signatures, and maintains minutes in the office as a permanent chronological record of events and activities; distributes copies of minutes as appropriate in a timely manner. Travel Arrangements Assists with or prepares all travel arrangements including meeting transportation, and hotel arrangements for executive staff, as required. Initial Application and Reappointment Coordinates and performs initial application and reappointment credentialing and privileging activities to assure only qualified physicians and allied health professionals provide patient care in accordance with the legal and accreditation requirements. Orientation Coordinates orientation of new physicians and allied health professionals, including assignment of educational training modules, initiating security requests and conducting tours of the facility, as required. Residents/Fellows Coordinates the credentialing process for resident/fellow educational staff rotation privileges, as required. Credentialing Criteria and Privileging Forms Develops and updates credentialing criteria and privileging forms for physicians and allied health professionals in accordance with national and local standards and regulatory requirements. Medical Staff Bylaws Develops, implements, revises, and manages medical staff bylaw documents, as required. Filing Files documents in accordance with established filing systems in a timely manner. Ensures forms and policies are maintained accurately. Database Maintains accurate computerized database of physicians and allied health professional information, and provides reports and information to internal and external customers. Meeting Rooms Maintains schedules for administrative meeting rooms; arrange for equipment and/or food service requests as directed; maintain adequate supplies in meeting rooms, as required. Meeting Coordination Makes arrangements and schedules meetings and appointments on behalf of medical staff; sends notices, agendas and other prepared materials to appropriate persons; receives and documents all RSVPs. Typing Performs general typing assignments such as memos, reports, and correspondence. Monetary Orders and Requisitions Prepares check requisitions, purchase orders, food service requests, supply requests, subscriptions; obtains authorized signatures and forward to proper designations, as required. Correspondence Prepares correspondence to communicate to physicians and allied health professionals on actions of the hospital governing board as well as any follow-up correspondence related to credentialing. Preparation of Credential Files Prepares credentialing applications and supporting documents for review by the medical executive committee and hospital governing board. Attendance and Follow-Up Prepares time and attendance sheets for signature and submittal to payroll; follows-up with the detail of scheduled events and keeps appropriate personnel apprised of status and progress of such events, as required. Staff Privilege Applications Provides pre-application paperwork to physicians requesting medical staff privileges; processes medical staff applications by verifying training and forwarding reference letters, as required. Credential Files Updates medical staff credential files with current malpractice insurance, licensure, and DEA certificates and places necessary information on intranet sites. Qualifications Required High School Diploma/GED 5 years prior medical staff experience or related healthcare experience Required Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Preferred National Association of Medical Staff Services Preferred TRAVEL IS REQUIRED:
