Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service of Indiana, Inc.
History of the Company: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 2,500 licensed EMT, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 500 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.
Responsibilities
+ Answer, screen, and direct calls for entire company
+ Distinguish the need for emergency transportation
+ Pre-arrange transport for facilities while determining the level of care needed for the patients
+ Arrange specialty and critical care transportation
+ Provide information and assistance for customer service inquires as needed
+ Communicate with multiple departments and EMS personal
+ Provide supportive information to customers to assist them in arranging appropriate transport
+ Develop effective solutions for customer service issues
+ Direct calls to Flight desk as appropriate
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ Pleasant, professional phone manner
+ Detail oriented
+ Typing skills of 30 wpm or better
+ Ability to excel in high-stress environment
+ Adapt to frequently changing policies
+ Ability to learn policies and procedures for facilities and recognizing when to apply them.
+ Medical background a plus
+ EMD certification will be required within 1 year of employment
