Assists in major and minor surgeries under the direct supervision of a surgeon. Performs pre-operative and post-operative patient care within a peri-operative surgical site. Provides safe, efficient, age specific patient care.
What You Will Do Displays knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the human body while delivering safe patient care. Involved in learning and self-improvement. Acts as a patient advocate. Actively participates in the quality improvement process Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Qualifications: Education Associate's Degree or equivalent program approved by AMA for surgical assisting (Required) or Graduate of approved nursing program and successful completion of RNFA program (Required) or High School Equivalent / GED and completion of accredited Surgical Technician program. (Required) and Other Accredited Program Successful completion of first assisting program. (Required) Work Experience 1+ years clinical experience as a surgical assistant/RNFA/CST-FA (Preferred) and Current experience and demonstrated competence in the area of privileges requested. (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs. (Required proficiency) High degree of hand/eye coordination and uniform mental attention.
