As a Therapist in the Children's Outpatient Program, you will be responsible for the following:
Conduct Intake Assessments, including all necessary opening paperwork (Integrated Biopsychosocial, financial and demographic forms, etc.) Gather and integrate information from all available sources, including client self-reports, reports from family members, guardian(s) and probation officer, documented medical, treatment history, etc.; Assist with the development of comprehensive Person-Centered Treatment Planning with consumers and other members of the treatment team (consistent with Integrated Biopsychosocial Assessment and all other clinical assessments); Provide face-to-face clinical interventions, in the office, to each assigned consumer at least monthly. Provide individual, family and group therapy. Conduct crisis planning with client. Provide parent education, coaching and training. Provide referrals for services and community resources as needed. Work collaboratively with others in relation to the child and family including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, Wraparound facilitators, school personnel and other family service or support people. Advocate on behalf of the child and family to assist them in meeting their needs and reaching their desired level of self-sufficiency. Assess client satisfaction and participate in program evaluation as needed. Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings and case consultations. Complete clinical records and agency documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and procedures of the Guidance Center. Work with other COP and Guidance Center staff in addressing unit and agency issues and student supervision. Follow The Guidance Center's professional code of ethics. Represent The Guidance Center in the community in a professional manner. Maintain appropriate state licensure of certifications. Complete 24 hours of training per calendar year specific to children or adolescents. Develop schedule with supervisor and work at least 4 hours each week after 5:00. Full-time staff must provide 23 hours of billable service per week. Other duties as assigned. Travel: Mileage Reimbursement when personal vehicle used - IRS standard. .64 per mile Any training paid for by TGC.

Must have a Master's Degree or higher and be a psychologist (TLLP, LLP, or LP), licensed master's social worker (LMSW) or limited licensed master's social worker (LLMSW) supervised by a licensed master's social worker, licensed professional counselor (LPC) or limited licensed professional counselor (LLPC) currently in the state of Michigan. Full license (LMSW, LP, or LPC) preferred. Or must hold state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, LLP). Failure to obtain licensure within the training period will result in the employee being unqualified to perform the function. Beyond the training period, all state licensure must continually remain active, in effect, and free from disciplinary action. Must possess and retain current licensure in the State of Michigan. Must also meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements for a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) within 120 days of hire. Must have acceptable MDHHS Central Registry and criminal background check clearance. One year of experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families - Required. Electronic medical record experience - Preferred. Proficient with use of computer, (including email, word processing, excel spreadsheets, and databases, etc.) experience with electronic medical preferred. Additional requirements include: cultural competency, ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with children and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, effective communication skills, and a willingness to be flexible. Cannot accept candidates who are on student/work visas, and/or require sponsorship to work in the U.S. at this time.
