Porter/Sales Assistant - New/Used Automotive Dealership
Looking for a jumpstart into a career in automotive? Greenway Ford, CDJR, and GMC in Morris, IL is searching for a highly driven and experienced porter. The porter works alongside our sales and service departments to ensure our growing vehicle inventory is always front-line ready, showroom ready, and digitally ready.
Compensation: Starting $17.00 - $19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (one day of during weekday)
Saturday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (mandatory)
Sundays CLOSED
Job Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring all new and used vehicles are washed, freshly tagged, plated, and have adequate "flair"Wash/detail sold vehicles and perform quality checks prior to deliveryWash/detail vehicle inventory as neededOrganize the placement of vehicles on the new and used vehicle lots, service areas, and in the prep areas on a daily (and as often as needed) - vehicle lots are rearranged weeklyHelps perform physical inventory monthlyMake sure vehicles are properly gassed while on the lot (1/4 tank) and prior to customer delivery (full tank)Maintain company's fleet of loaner vehiclesTransport cars to clients or to offsite locations for additional workAttend weekly meetings as requestedRegularly complete safety training as assignedWinter Tasks:Clear snow and debris from vehicles after each snowfallSalt walkways and high traffic areas (building entrances, service drop off/pickup areas)Arrange and re-arrange lot to ensure proper snow removal Requirements
This position requires a considerable amount of walking, climbing in and out of vehicles (including large trucks and vans). Work is performed largely outside in the elements, year-round. Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Driver's License (must be insurable and ability to drive a standard transmission).
