Job Title: Mechanical Preconstruction Manager Location: Laurel, MD area

Company: A leading regional contractor in the midst of expansion, boasting a remarkable backlog of projects across various sectors including Commercial, Government, Education, Healthcare, Multi-family, and Industrial.

Job Description: We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Preconstruction Manager with a strong background in Commercial Mechanical construction. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Estimating, Design Review, and managing the preconstruction process specifically related to Mechanical Piping, Plumbing, and Sheet Metal projects.

Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Preconstruction department Collaborate closely with the estimating team to ensure accurate estimates Manage a team of Project Engineers Liaise with subcontractors on submittals and Request for Information (RFI) Negotiate subcontract buyouts Interpret and comprehend project specifications Develop master budgets and cost models for HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing Maintain and update cost databases Review and provide feedback on estimates from others Position Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience managing a preconstruction team Experience as an Estimator on projects exceeding $1 million or equivalent career accomplishments Proven track record in commercial piping projects Ability to generate conceptual bids for Design/Build projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in establishing timelines and budgets Strong multitasking abilities Demonstrated career stability and estimating success Proficient in computer applications Project Management experience is advantageous Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field preferred Benefits: We are dedicated to the well-being of our employees and their families, offering an exceptional and comprehensive benefits package.
