Summary

Reporting to a County Executive or Department/Agency Head, the Program Analyst is responsible for providing research, data analysis and reporting on issues, initiatives and topics that enhance and improve the quality of our County programs and services. This analysis may include service data analysis, best practice research, review of regional activities. This role will also develop and maintain a project listing for the Executive Director's office to ensure critical projects are completed in a timely manner. This work will be done in conjunction with the Executive Director to ensure our government operations are efficient, cost-effective, transparent, equitable and meet the needs of our residents. The Project Analyst must be able to work independently on multiple efforts simultaneously and work collaboratively with County directors.

Essential Duties

Program Analyst must develop a plan of action to get a project completed, working across departments to ensure their needs and wants are included within the confines of the project and budgetary restrictions.

Develop and manage project list for Executive Director's office including tasks, deadlines, designated personnel.

Conduct research, data collection and data analysis.

Examine best practices from regional and national sources to improve County services

Manage deadlines and work collaborative with others to ensure timeliness.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed.

Communicate with elected officials and administrative persons at all levels of government.

Collaborate with business and project partners.

Prepare and distribute reports and updates, including providing public presentations.

Maintains required project files and records.

Additional responsibilities may be supplemented based on the specific work requirements and initiatives to be assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

The Program Analyst must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and/or have work experience in data analysis, research, and managing projects. The hiring Executive/Director may waive educational requirements if an applicant demonstrates substantial and relevant life experiences and relevant skills.

The Program Analyst must demonstrate proficiency in written and verbal communications, have the ability to work within the County's office automation/data/ computer applications, administrative practices, and regulatory requirements. The ability to travel within the County to attend meetings, including attendance at occasional evening and weekend events is required.

Fluency in American English is required, and multilingual/multicultural skills are desired.

Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Excel, report writing and report presentation software is required.
