Since 1987, the Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) has worked to help youth realize their potential while serving the Gateway Cities area. As a state-certified Corps, CCLB is positioned to offer its Corpsmembers access to a variety of environmental work experiences while also facilitating personal development opportunities. More than 12,000 youth and young adults have benefitted from our unique program, and over 1,500 have received a high school diploma while working with us. We continue to serve local youth as we work towards achieving our vision of a world where all youth and young adults thrive, are resilient, have equitable access to opportunity, and are stewards of our community and the environment.

Position Description
Have a passion for working with children? Interested in a career with kids? The Conservation Corps of Long Beach is currently recruiting program leaders to join our After School staff for the school year!
This is NOT a "Clock-in to clock-out" job! We need people who are committed to enhancing the lives of children, passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of youth, and willing to invest their-selves into positive relationships and create lasting connections with the students in our program. We want people who are understand that children are not always perfect, but who are patient enough to learn with them and from them to make their time with us the best hours of their day each and every day!
In your resume, please include any experience, interests, hobbies, or activities you have that you feel you would be able to create a "club" for the students to participate in (examples would be "Dance Club" "Cooking Club" "Science Club" "Magic Club" etc.)
Responsibilities and Duties Duties include but not limited to: Implementing lesson plans as assigned by the Program Site DirectorEnsuring emotional and physical safety of all children in the programEnsuring correct Sign-In and Sign-Out documentation and attendance of studentsProviding physical fitness though games, exercises, and activities to studentsHelp students grades K- 8 with homeworkFollow all protocol and guidelines as set by the Site Director and Program Qualifications and Skills Energetic personality who is not afraid to be silly with the kidsStrong leadership skillsBe able to control a class of up to 20 students18 years of age or olderMinimum of 48 college units OR pass the Academic Abilities Test (administered by LBUSD)Able to pass a T.B. Test and Fingerprint Background CheckMUST BE AVAILABLE to work every day Monday-Friday between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. (NO EXCEPTIONS! YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE EVERY DAY DURING THESE TIMES!)Able to work well with others (including children, parents, program staff, and school staff)Be able to stand for 3+ hours at a timeExperience with children is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidateBilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required!
Salary and Benefits:
