ABOUT THE POSITION
The teaching assignment may be at the Liberal Arts campus, the Pacific Coast campus or other college teaching locations. The assignment may be day, evening, weekend, online or off campus and is subject to change as needed. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. Duties

Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the discipline; OR,Any Associate degree and six years of experience in the discipline; OR,the equivalent AND,
Evidence of a sensitivity, understanding, and ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Local Equivalency StatementMinimum of 18 units of completed lower division General Education credits in 3 out
of 4 General Education requirement areas (Language and Rationality; Natural
Science; Humanities; and Social Sciences) ANDCulinary Arts/Food Services related certification such as:
a. Certification as a working Chef by any Culinary Federation AND
b. Membership in at least one Culinary Trade Organization ANDMinimum of eight (8) years full-time food services occupational experience in the
Food Services Industry (such as pastry, cold kitchen, banquets and/or gourmet
foods) OR
Minimum of twelve (12) units of completed Culinary Arts classes AND six (6) years
of food service occupational experience (such as pastry, cold kitchen, banquets
and/or gourmet foods). DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:1. Recent community college or lower division teaching experience.
2. Minimum seven (7) years full-time, hands-on experience in commercial/industrial kitchens (e.g. Luxury Hotel, Fine-Dining Restaurant) in several different positions in the Escoffier Kitchen Brigade (e.g. Entremetier, Garde Manger, Tournant, Rtisseur, Poissoiner, Saucier, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef de Cuisine, Chef de Cuisine, Executive Sous Chef, and Executive Chef), as well as experience in Baking and Pastry.
