[CDATA[ Milton Hershey School (MHS) is accepting applications for a Flex Transitional Living Assistant (FTLA). FTLAs live in private on campus apartments and work in residence halls for high school seniors, including consistent overnight stays in the residence halls. FTLAs are constant role models
-demonstrating wise choices and positive behaviors. In partnership with other Transitional Living Administrators, the FTLAs lead, influence, supervise, and mentor the students on a daily basis. FTLAs work to ensure students develop the independent living skills they need in order to be successful post-graduation. This includes helping students recognize and prepare for the realities of the challenges they face as they enter college, the military, or the work force. There is a strong emphasis on students learning self-responsibility; as well as skills such as goal-setting, planning, time management, personal finance, and interpersonal skills
-including appropriate dating behaviors and responding appropriately to peer pressure. FTLAs also are responsible for developing and delivering life skills training, as well as some recreational programming. In collaboration with other Transitional Living Staff, the FTLAs evaluate the programs' success on an ongoing basis and contribute to the refinement of the program
-adapting it to meet the ever changing challenges of the world students live in today. To fulfill the role, FTLAs live on campus and work in the residence halls on a schedule of 12 days on and 3 days off year-round. Pets are not permitted. *Up to $3,000.00 relocation assistance available.
Qualifications -Bachelor's Degree required. Master's a plus.
-Experience living and working in a residential education setting or student affairs preferred.
-Experience counseling, teaching, advising &/or working with lower income youth is preferred.
-Demonstrated ability to develop & deliver life skills programming desired.
-Exceptional interpersonal & leadership skills required including the ability to effectively manage conflict and inspire others to develop and grow.
-High degree of organizational skills & flexibility required.
-Skills in Microsoft applications, Internet & social media.
-Fluency in Spanish a plus.
-On campus residence required. A married spouse is permitted to reside with the FTLA, but the buildings do not accommodate pets nor children.
-MHS is a non-smoking campus.
-Must be able to work 12 consecutive days. (Days off do not include weekends.)
