Job Description What You'll Get to Do: Provide engineering and technical assistance to support operational requirements for tactical communications networks. Provide standards and guidelines from Project 25 (P25), TIA Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 88A and TIA TSB88-A-1 Wireless Communications Systems Performance in Noise and Interference Limited Situations, legacy standards and guidelines for C4I, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST 7.0). Provide expertise and guidance in a variety of communication system topologies such as: conventional tactical communications systems (including experience with OTAR, trunking, and data), microwave, VoIP, and IT architectures. Provide and develop propagation analyses/coverage plots, engineering diagrams, and backbone diagrams. Continuously analyze and review existing tactical equipment configurations and designs to provide recommendations to minimize costs and improve performance. Provide systems engineering support for tactical communications networks, including both wireless and cable components. Perform requirement assessments, analysis, and evaluation of existing and long-term requirements for secure/private tactical communications networks. Serve as the technical information repository to facilitate the fielding and deployment of advanced technologies. Perform necessary engineering to develop, design, and implement plans for both tactical and strategic tactical communications modernization, upgrades, and connectivity to the OneNet program. Research and perform site visits to identify operational requirements and coordinate with the site lessor to determine availability and assess technical suitability. Provide architecture engineering and support. Assist in the development of interoperability standards. Support the testing, deployment and operation of Over The Air Programming (OTAP) and Global Positioning System (GPS). Perform integration of tactical communications equipment, hardware, parts, and accessories to provide fully integrated equipment for use by the government customer. Perform installation of equipment at field locations and provide optimization of each site and of the overall network. Provide training to users, as needed, and as directed by the Government. Provide quality assurance (QA) to ensure that all integration, programming, testing, optimization, and training are reviewed and checked. You'll Bring These Qualifications: Experience working with analysis, design, development, and implementation support of tactical communications systems and applications. Experience working with the Technical system support including needs analysis, proposal generation design. Experience in a variety of communication system topologies such as: conventional tactical communications systems (including experience with OTAR, trunking, and data), microwave, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and IT architectures. Experience with P25 tactical communications systems similar in scope and magnitude to ICE systems. Experience addressing Government technical design questions and issues. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study in electronics and/or engineering, computer science, IT, or similar technical field with specific training in wireless communication and networking technologies and products or equivalent experience with specific training in wireless communication technologies and products.
