Categories Legacy SystemsSoftware About the Role The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel, Employment to join their dynamic legal team. This role is pivotal in providing strategic legal guidance on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from performance management to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The successful candidate will be a key partner to the People Team and other business stakeholders, creating and implementing scalable employment policies, processes, and training. The ideal candidate will have a JD and be a member in good standing with at least one US State Bar, with a preference for the CA Bar. A minimum of 8 years' of relevant employment experience, including a combination of law firm and in-house, is required. In-house start-up experience within fast-paced, high-impact environments, such as tech, is highly preferred.
As a Senior Counsel, Employment, you will be responsible for proactively advising on a wide range of employment law matters, including but not limited to, hiring practices, wage and hour issues, terminations, leave management, and safety. The role also involves closely partnering with the Employee Relations function on investigations, employment complaints, and HR compliance activities. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of California and federal employment law, be a self-starter with a flexible growth mindset, and possess strong communication skills to provide practical legal advice. Experience in HR compliance, the aerospace industry, and a background in areas such as ethics and compliance, intellectual property, or government contracts, are considered nice to haves but not required.
