Job Description - Senior Director, Development Services (3305571) The Senior Director, Development Services is responsible for leading a development operations team (currently six people), including oversight of gifts processing, database administration, mail file and data request fulfillment, and development compliance. This position reports to the Vice President, Development & Chief Development Officer (VPD/CDO) and participates in the Development Leadership Team with the VPD/CDO and Sr. Director of Strategy and Communications. The Sr. Director of Development Services provides strategy and overall direction for development operations in support of Mass Eye and Ear's comprehensive fundraising program, including events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manage and mentor development services team members to provide best in class support for Mass Eye and Ear's comprehensive fundraising program. This includes overseeing work, coaching, goal setting, establishing and measuring benchmarks, addressing issues and concerns, and completing the annual review process.Oversee the gifts processing team, ensuring that gifts, grants, and pledges are entered into Blackbaud CRM and acknowledged in accordance with Mass General Brigham (MGB) guidelines. Maintain data integrity, compliance, security, and privacy for donor and gift information.Oversee all imports and exports of data from online and event donations.Ensure successful daily GL close and annual reconciliation for the 990 tax filings. As needed, partner with the MGB Compliance Gift Processing Audit Team to complete a successful gift processing audit.Partner with the MGB Enterprise Development Office Support Teams to maximize utilization of the Blackbaud CRM system to achieve fundraising results. Serve as a member of the Systems Council and Gift Processing Council.Create and run queries for mail program, stewardship mailings, event invitations, and other projects as needed.Partner with the CDO and Sr. Director of Strategy and Communications to prepare and manage the annual development budget.Oversee Development invoice submission, credit card reconciliation, and daily administrative front-office tasks.Act as the primary manager of UKG dimensions, the timekeeping system. Ensure that time is entered correctly and that any issues are resolved efficiently.Set standards for information organization, off-site storage, maintenance, and retrieval.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Seven years of experience with development operations in a nonprofit setting. Health care experience is preferred.Strong management experience in leading and motivating a customer service-oriented team.Experience with Blackbaud CRM, including creating complex queries.Must have a working knowledge of non-profit fundraising and understand the requirements of accepting, processing, and acknowledging donations.Knowledge and familiarity of prospect research, major gift solicitation, annual, legacy and event systems management.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.Excellent project management, verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work.Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.Bachelor's degree required.Mass Eye and Ear is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
