Overview The Senior Manager of Business Development at CTS, the Clean Transportation Solutions division within TRC, will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, coordinating internal business development efforts, and driving revenue growth in the clean energy and transportation sectors. This role requires a deep understanding of the zero and near-zero transportation industry (on and non-road), emerging clean energy initiatives, and government regulations and policies. The person in this role should have exceptional networking skills and a strategic mindset to navigate the complex landscape of emerging technologies and market trends. The person will develop thorough mastery of the key players and scope of work offered by the Compliance, Creative, Events, Incentives and Strategic Initiatives consulting teams.
The person in this role will focus on growing the company's clients across the United States, Canada, European Union, and United Kingdom. The Senior Manager of Business Development will be responsible for identifying leads, proposing and ultimately securing opportunities with strategically important clients. The person in this role will be a key liaison between the client and TRC during business development and will report directly to the President of the Clean Transportation Solutions division within TRC.
Responsibilities Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and new market entry. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including OEMs, suppliers, government agencies, and other industry partners. Secure partnership registration for all new DOE, CEC and other opportunities.Sales & Revenue Generation: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. Manage the sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing deals, and negotiate contracts and agreements.Marketing Content: Coordinate with CTS Creative Team to identify the need for new, and update existing, marketing materials including case studies, one sheets, webpages, presentations and news articles.Client and Industry Presentations: As supportive to business development efforts, lead or support CTS presentation at meetings, webinars, or conventions. This may also include staffing the CTS booth at industry events.Market Research & Strategy: Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities and competitive landscape in the clean and renewable energy space. Work closely with senior management to develop, prioritize and execute strategies to capture market share and drive business growth. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present regular internal reports on business development activities, market trends, and performance metrics to senior management. Regularly update all necessary information in Salesforce and Asana platforms.Internal Communications: Using internal databases, ensure that external business development efforts are coordinated across teams and that multiple TRC personnel are not engaging the same company/person at the same time.Lead Proposal Development: Proactively position new and returning clients on scopes of work, including drafting budget estimates and scoping language monthly for "top opportunities" that can be distributed internally to client leads and to other teams. Serve as a single point of contact across RFP responses to develop proposal teams. Lead and ensure project management protocols are maintained across RFP responses. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.7+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably within the electric vehicle and clean energy space.Strong understanding of the zero and near-zero emission transportation market (on and non-road), including companies, leaders, industry trends, technologies, and regulatory landscape.Proven record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth through strategic initiatives.Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market data and trends.This is a new role within the Clean Transportation division of TRC and additional responsibilities may be added to this role.Our Mission We understand our clients' goals, and embrace them as our own, applying creativity, experience, integrity and dedication to deliver superior solutions to the world's energy, environment and infrastructure challenges.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
