This senior-level role involves cultivating, stewarding, and managing a portfolio of donors, including individuals, foundations, corporations, and public sources, to ensure that all children have access to an equitable and excellent education. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a long-term vision and strategy to achieve development goals, with a focus on maximizing giving and playing a key role in new donor strategy and acquisition. Additionally, the role includes mentoring or managing a team of development staff, maintaining donor and fundraising information, and stewarding organizational initiatives.
Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in sophisticated and complex development and fundraising, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious goals. The role requires expertise in relationship building, particularly with executive level donors, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in fundraising and development, adept at building multi-year cultivation and stewardship plans, and capable of autonomously managing a complex donor portfolio. Management experience, as well as a strong preference for fundraising certification, is also noted. The position demands a candidate who is highly skilled in influencing and executing sophisticated relationship management, and who is oriented towards seeking out and developing new relationships and partnerships.
