Location/Division Specific Information Pharmaceutical Services Group How will you make an impact?: Supervises activities of the utilities and facilities personnel who is responsible to operate, monitors and perform preventive and corrective maintenance of utilities and facilities systems. Ensures that all services and installations are carried out in a thorough and cost-effective manner. Emphasizes on minimizing operational downtime, that all safety procedures are followed and regulatory compliance is maintained. Ensures compliance with state, federal, and local regulatory agency codes and adherence to company rules and regulations. What will you do? Provides leadership to assigned staff by performing the following: leading organizational change; developing and empowering staff; cultivating relationships; putting staff in a position to succeed, meeting their personal career goals while also achieving organizational goals; building effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; driving engagement and creating a climate where staff are motivated to do their best. Supervises utilities and facilities staff to operate, monitor and perform preventive and corrective maintenance and ensure all work complies with all regulatory requirements and expectations. Supervises staff to complete assignments per established schedule, work orders are closed timely and appropriate time reporting is documented for work performed. Responsible to participate in the revision and keep up to date the applicable standard operating procedures (SOP), forms, drawings, reference materials and that the resources are properly trained on them. Monitors training to ensure appropriate training to staff is available, training plans are in place, and training requirements are completed per schedule. Coordinate engineering utilities and facilities resources to meet manufacturing operations needs based on priority and work assignments. Communicates with production planners, supervisors and management the planned maintenance work schedules to minimize production equipment downtime. Participate in applicable forums to coordinate activities windows with planning, operations, and any applicable functional area. Ensures that established standards, including timeliness and quality, are met. Takes direct action to correct and prevent deviations and follow-up on corrective action. Manage the utilities and facilities (internal and subcontracted) resources to sustain the good state of the utilities systems (audit-ready), compliant with quality and regulatory requirements, as applicable. Responsible to manage issued quality system records related to the utilities and facilities area including but not limited to: deviation reports, corrective and preventive actions and audit observations. Develops annual and semi-annual performance plans for employees, monitor and provide feedback on employee performance, attendance, and compliance with company policies. Reviews systems monitoring documentation to assure proper documentation requirements, performance, and utilization. Takes actions to correct any identified conditions and improve performance. Supervises utilities and facilities operations, assuring proper documentation of the performed work and compliance with the applicable standard operating procedures and regulations. Responsible for the implementation, monitoring and sustaining of energy conservation programs and efficiency initiatives. Provides support to project implementation, new business opportunities and system enhancement initiatives, taking actions to mitigate any potential risks identified, minimize impact to the operational area and meet implementation targets. How will get there? Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is preferable. High level of mechanical aptitude and theory. High level of proficiency in GMP's Manufacturing Operations. Experience: Seven years (7) of engineering mechanical and electrical systems related experience or higher is preferred. Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Demonstrated ability to manage and lead technical staff in order to achieve goals, evaluate and resolve complex technical problems. Ability to motivate, energize, and retain key staff by direct interactions with supervisors and staff. Utilities and Facilities Systems knowledge (SME) and supervision to maintain the service equipment and systems throughout the facility. Use and understand technical data, technical manuals, and manufacturers' handbooks, P&IDs, schematics, as well as engineering instructions. Proficient in utilities and facilities maintenance requirements with technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, piping, HVAC, pneumatics, high pressure boilers, electronics, maintenance planning and scheduling and resource utilization, preventive maintenance programs and maintenance work order procedures on a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), training development and management of change activities as applicable. Knowledge of computer systems and controls. Must be willing to respond to all types of emergencies; spend overtime hours in monitoring scheduled work. Must be able to plan and organize various projects and large volumes of work. Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills. Self-starter, mature, independent and dependable. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure, able to multi-task and results-oriented. Effective time management and prioritization skills. Requires discretion and independent judgment. A very high degree of interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public, including tact to handle sensitive matters. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
