Job Summary: As a Senior IT Technician, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, managing complex IT systems, and leading efforts to ensure the stability and security of the company's IT infrastructure. You will play a key role in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing hardware and software systems, while also mentoring junior technicians and contributing to IT project initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: Advanced Technical Support: Provide expert-level technical support for complex issues involving hardware, software, and network systems. Troubleshoot and resolve escalated IT problems that junior technicians are unable to resolve. Assist end-users with advanced technical queries and provide tailored solutions. Systems and Network Management: Manage and maintain company servers, networks, and IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. Perform system updates, patches, and backups, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Monitor network traffic and system performance, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively. IT Project Participation: Lead or contribute to IT projects, including system upgrades, new technology implementations, and infrastructure expansions. Collaborate with other departments to ensure IT solutions align with business needs and goals. Provide input on project planning, timelines, and resource allocation. Mentorship and Team Support: Mentor and guide junior IT technicians, providing training and sharing expertise to develop their skills. Assist the IT manager in overseeing daily operations and delegating tasks within the IT team. Lead by example in following best practices for IT support, security, and documentation. Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce IT security protocols to protect company data and systems. Conduct regular security audits and implement measures to address vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal IT policies. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of IT procedures, configurations, and incidents. Prepare reports on system performance, security incidents, and support activities. Assist in developing and updating IT policies and procedures. Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as an IT technician or in a senior technical support role. Deep understanding of IT systems, networks, and best practices for security. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are highly desirable. Experience with virtualization, cloud services, and advanced networking technologies is a plus.
