The Operations team continues to grow and aims to strengthen the connection of Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain and Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) across Collins Aerospace. In this dynamic environment , you will have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality and efficiency of our operations worldwide. Role Overview This position supervises entry and intermediate professional level employees or team leaders of production employees and sets day-to-day goals. Manages cell productivity and guides scheduling, sequencing of work, and production innovation to optimize production. Responsibilities: Facilitate the activities of the assigned to Mfg. operations. Lead group of operators, group leaders and inspector assigned to different Mfg, areas Stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of facilitator and production employees. Initiate cross training and initial training programs that encompass all aspects of the manufacturing inspection and test functions to expand and improve coverage and personnel qualifications. Develop manpower planning and utilization programs to satisfy actual and projected requirements. Includes the scheduling of overtime and the cost effective use of temporary services. Assist cell teams in achieving and maintaining cell key metric goals. Confer with the Operations Support Manager and Production Planners to establish working schedule for all departments connected with production. Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. Recommend the hiring and releasing of production personnel as required to maintain production schedule. Assure that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production. Arrange to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained. Maintain good employee relations. Keeps records/statistics of departmental activities, as required. Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department. Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement in the operation. Responsible for talent development of both direct and indirect reports assigned to their organization. Full responsible for time and attendance process on a timely and efficient manner. Essential Functions Responsible for directing and supervising a group of employees involved in inspection and quality control procedures with regard to purchased material, in-process material and finished products to assure that quality control standards are achieved. Plan and assign work of subordinates. Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, make suggestions with regard to procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality. Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices. Responsible for compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records. Investigate and determine cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as to corrective measures. Maintain discipline, morale and harmonious relations among subordinates. Investigate and adjust personnel problems within area of responsibility. Effectively recommend as to hiring, promotions, wage adjustments and terminations. Requirements: • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent is required. • Ability to work extended hours, weekends and Holidays in a challenging and dynamic environment with shifting priorities and a sense of urgency. • Posses high energy and drive with above average analytical skills and proven decision making experience. • Display strong leadership skills with high levels of emotional intelligence and have the ability of self-motivation. • Strong communications and public speaking skills (English & Spanish). • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Power Point. • Experience working with Six Sigma and Lean tools is highly preferred. • Due to ITAR regulations the candidate must be a US Citizen. Basic Qualifications: Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience or In absence of a Degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required. This position requires up to 25% travel. Some of the travel is international.
