Overview
Responsible for ordering the special surgical supplies and keeps the inventory as needed and appropriate par level. Duties and responsibilities demand comprehensive knowledge of surgical supplies and work closely with clinical manager. Able to complete necessary documentation and maintain special surgery supply inventory.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support San Gabriel Valley Medical Center's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
Responsibilities
Consistently applies infection control policies/procedures. Understands, practices, and teaches/instructs standard precautions for self and other in-patient care activities. Understands, practices, and teaches/instructs others in-patient care activities about the appropriate disease-specific isolation. Meets population specific competencies. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of all unit based competencies. Completes all annual competency checklist and competency forms. Attends department specific education/training/in-services, staff meetings. Attends mandatory in-services/educational/training activities at least 90% of the time. Provides for periodic structured training/in-service sessions throughout the year on a rotating basis. Arranges for mini weekly in-services on a rotating basis or more frequently as your service requires for information, communication and continuing education

Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Knowledge of inventory and supply distribution required.
One year experience in Central Service required or Operating room Technician
