The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and managing the strategic credit decision-making process for Multifamily Affordable Housing and Structured Facilities products. This leadership role involves overseeing a large team of underwriters, ensuring that credit quality standards are met, and that the book of business aligns with corporate risk tolerance parameters. The VP will also be instrumental in developing policies, credit guidance, and methodologies, as well as engaging with various internal and external stakeholders, including product development and risk management teams.
Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in underwriting multifamily loans, with a focus on affordable housing and/or structured facilities, and at least 8 years in a leadership capacity. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in executive communication, influencing skills, and a proven track record in building relationships. An operational excellence mindset, strong analytical acumen, and a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in a related field are essential. The VP will be expected to have a passion for talent development and a commitment to overall people leadership, as well as the ability to set and achieve measurable goals for the team. Experience with GSEs and data visualization tools is a plus.
