BJMC Global is seeking experienced FEMA 404/406 Hazard Mitigation Specialist to support long-term disaster recovery efforts following Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Specialists will collaborate with FEMA and local government officials to provide disaster grant assistance for the repair, replacement, and restoration of public infrastructure and facilities. This includes leading exploratory calls and recovery scoping meetings; reviewing projects, ensuring validation, and determining hazard mitigation requirements; and overseeing environmental and historic preservation reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- FEMA 404/406 Mitigation or HMGP experience is required.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and 10+ years of relevant field experience.
- Strong proficiency with Grants Manager, Microsoft Excel, Adobe, and general internet/email applications.
- Experience with commercial and public facilities, including (but not limited to) roads, bridges, water and waste treatment facilities, buildings, utilities, parks, beaches, and schools.
- Willingness to undergo and pass a federal background investigation to obtain required security clearance.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to deploy to locations affected by disaster event as needed.
- Physical capacity to conduct site visits in austere locations, with exposure to challenging terrain, sun, and heat.
- Strong team collaboration skills to contribute to program objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
