Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Advising and Career Services, the individual in this position provides logistical/analytical as well as academic and career advising support to the ACS department. Serves as a lead for Starfish and Student Planning concerns and projects. Runs reports and makes recommendations to the Director based on data analysis. Provides advising support during peak registration and other times of the academic year, as needed.

Essential Functions:
Works closely with PIER to produce reports/surveys, etc. Assists students with registration as needed. Manages a caseload of students in a specified pathway (Trades, Transportation & Energy). Provides career advisement and registration for students, which requires ascertaining student's goals and assisting in the planning for student's attainment of these goals Assists students in interpretation of transfer requirements for articulation agreements and transfer options in general, if applicable Collects and reports monthly statistics to the Director of Advising & Career Services. Serves as campus contact for ACS Data. Promotes credit and continuing education courses and programs Serves on various committees that impact the vision of the department. Serves on task forces related to improving the delivery of student services Provides academic advisement for all students during peak registration periods and other times of the year as needed. Maintains accurate records and notes about student progress. Assists students with the interpretation of placement test and online advising resources. Provides referrals to campus and community resources regarding student issues both academic and personal. Keeps up to date with academic advising information, Colleague, and online advisor procedures. Provides assistance to students in the use on online and other web tools for academic and career advising. Attends academic advisor meetings and training. Additional Duties:

Minimum Education and TrainingBS or BA degree required with two years' experience in career development, education, advising or four year's experience in related field. Knowledge and experience in assisting students in a college setting in academic and/or career development Community College experience, preferred Experience with data analysis and reporting, preferred. Physical Requirements:
The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
