Accounting Co-Op

The ideal opportunity to be immersed within a corporate accounting team to gain exposure and hands on experience with all areas of operation. Assist with preparation of timely and accurate financial reports/statements in accordance with statutory (SAP) and GAAP guidance. The Accounting Co-op will assist with preparation of annual statement filings and the monthly book close as well as support the team with various projects, gaining insight into financial reporting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare monthly journal entries related to financial closeResearch accounts transactions and prepares various monthly reconciliations utilizing sub ledgersAssist with annual and quarterly regulatory filings including but not limited to preparing notes, tables and financial statementsAssist with gathering information requested by auditorsParticipate in team meetingsSpecial projects as assigned Education, Requirements & Competencies Must be a current student working towards a degree in AccountingCoursework and project experience in accounting principles is a mustAnalytical drive, with attention to detailsStrong communication skills (written and verbal); ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.Solid organizational and time-management skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is preferred.
