Accounts Payable Clerk

José Santiago, Inc. is recruiting an accounts payable clerk to perform the following functions:
Provide support in the registry of vendor invoices and issuance of checks;
Archive documents;
Assist with the process of enveloping and mailing checks to vendors;
Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients;
Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures;
Understand chassis demurrage invoices from ocean carriers;
Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (480s, sales tax);
Perform assigned tasks on time and notify any situation affecting assigned tasks;
Any other duties as assigned.
Experience as Accounts Payable Clerk;
Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles;
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures;
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers;
Experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software;
Proficiency in English and in MS Office;
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
