We are a dedicated hardware build, test, and launch organization seeking a highly-skilled, detail-oriented, and hands-on individual who is comfortable receiving direction and working collaboratively with others. As a member of our team, you will build upon your industry expertise and develop new skills to work independently in designing, fabricating, installing, and testing thermal systems on one-of-a-kind spacecraft hardware. You will collaborate with a driven team of engineers, scientists, and technical staff to deliver exceptional products and services to our sponsors and U.S. Government agencies.
Job Responsibilities: Design, fabricate, and install thermal insulation materials such as MLI (Multi-Layer Insulation), foam, and other specialized systems.Work with thermal control systems, including heaters, radiators, and fluid loops.Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and other technical support staff to solve complex thermal challenges.Interpret engineering drawings, follow detailed procedures, and adhere to strict quality control and inspection standards.Participate in spacecraft assembly, preparing it for launch into space.Contribute to launch site operations, performing final closeouts and modifications, and supporting handling and integration operations with the launch vehicle.Be a trusted partner that the engineers and other technical staff rely on to provide your independent assessments of various aspects of the work they are doing. Basic Hiring Criteria: High school diploma or equivalent.Have 3+ years of experience working in aerospace or a related field.Strong attention to detail.Have experience in sheet metal layout and fabrication, or possess design/fabrication experience in fields such as graphic design, textiles, or fashion.Are willing and able to travel to launch sites and testing facilities, work in cleanrooms, and lift up to 50 lbs.Are skilled in communicating differing opinions in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Desired Qualifications: Hold an associate's degree or technical certification(s).Have experience designing and fabricating MLI thermal blankets.Have worked with fluid loops in spacecraft or other aerospace systems.Possess experience with spacecraft propulsion systems, thermal systems, or structural assemblies.Hold an active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
