Description Under the general supervision of the Director of Radiology Operations, the Administrative Manager of Radiology is responsible for managing and overseeing the administrative teams supporting the Department of Radiology's main campus check-in areas and sub-specialty division support staff. The administrative manager will oversee approximately 65 full-time equivalents (FTE).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: For all positions that include direct patient care, indicate with an "X" the age(s) of all patient populations served No Direct Patient Care

Geriatric (65 years and up) Operations Management - - Ensures standardized practice across role groups within areas of oversite
- Responsible for ensuring efficient workflows and processes across check-in/registration areas and division reading rooms
- Works with the director of Radiology Care Coordination to ensure appointment scheduling practices are followed by staff with scheduling responsibilities
- Works with division Chiefs to ensure the needs of each sub-specialty division is being met/fulfilled by administrative staff
- Point of contact for clinical directors to address any concerns/issues in the check-in area, etc.
- Ensures daily coverage of all check-in/registration desks within Radiology and rotating staff for cross-coverage and backup coverage planning
Human Resource Management- - Participates in new hire interviews
- Supervises and mentors staff within area(s) of oversight
- Oversees and guides corrective action upon consulting with the Senior Director of Operations (as needed)
- Assigns work, evaluates performance and ensures ongoing competency
- Oversees the implementation of work schedules, including but not limited to;
o Daily work assignments to ensure coverage for 24/7 operations
o Back-up / Emergency coverage schedules
o Holiday coverage schedules
- Oversees the approval of staff time off, ensuring adequate staffing at all times
- Manages and oversees payroll activities
- Enters performance evaluations; recommends salary adjustment, recognition
- Responsible for professional development of staff within areas of oversight
Quality and Safety - - Ensures that all Department, Hospital, and Regulatory guidelines are met (i.e., Joint Commission, CMS, DPH, ACR, and all others that may apply)
- Ensures all departmental policies pertaining to areas of oversite are reviewed and updated on a regular basis
- Ensures department/staff knowledge of emergency procedures
- Monitors patient satisfaction surveys and reviews results with staff (positive and negative) and creates action plans to improve the patient experience
Technical Management - - Ensures proper functioning of all office equipment utilized by staff
- Interface and engage with I.T. regularly on all equipment installs, upgrades, space moves, and all other activities with an I.T. component
Analytics/Reporting/Monitoring - Including but not limited to:
- Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Yearly reporting on identified metrics (as required)
Financial Management - Reviews and Manages supply/expense budget for administrative support cost center.
Attends meetings on behalf of Sr. Director &/or clinical directors, as needed Performs other duties and special projects as assigned SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with departmental staff, leadership, medical staff, and other hospital personnel.
Uses independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative under pressure in various situations.
Must possess analytical abilities necessary to effectively utilize advanced knowledge of imaging processes, develop policies and procedures, maintain databases and budgets, ensure compliance, and evaluate equipment.
Must have the ability to adapt to changing pace (stressful situations) within the department, with frequent interruptions.
Presents a positive attitude and a professional appearance.
Must be physically capable of lifting (Office equipment, supplies, etc.).
A comprehensive understanding of the Hospital Information System that integrate with the Department of Radiology relating to patient information such as registering patients and generating Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement reports
Must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt to diverse roles as a departmental team member.
Must be aware of hazards within the department ionizing radiation and adhere to safety standards established by BH and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications 5-7 years of management experience required, preferably within a hospital/healthcare setting
Bachelor's level degree required, master's preferred, within the health sciences/business/management field.
