About the JobUnder the supervision of the Associate Executive Director, the Aquatics Director is responsible for program development, including program expansion and supporting ongoing programs to maximize pool usage. This position will lead and develop the Chinatown Family YMCA aquatics department and the staff affiliated with these programs. This includes recruiting, hiring, training/certification, supervision, and scheduling. They will uphold the safety of the aquatic environment by supervising the aquatics coordinator, swim lesson instructors, lifeguards, and swim coaches. Through strong communication and outreach skills, this position will build relationships with local schools and community organizations to effectively recruit aquatics candidates and grow aquatics programming. They will assist the aquatics coordinator in managing group lessons, private lessons, and swim team programs. They will lead regular staff trainings and conduct in-services and trainings for branch staff. This position will work towards completing the Team Leader level of leadership competency. This is an exempt position.
Salary range: $68,000 to $73,000 per year
