We are seeking an Assistant Group Supervisor to assist in providing leadership, vision, and strategic guidance to 50+ Classified Enterprise Operations Support (ICS) staff within the Information Technology Services Department (ITSD). ICS is responsible for managing the enterprise IT services, information security, and infrastructure across APL's classified enterprise networks.
As the Assistant Group Supervisor of Classified Enterprise Operations Support, you will... Primarily be responsible to work with group management to lead and mentor 50+ highly-technical professionals delivering IT services and security compliance on IC and DoD classified enterprise networks. Help develop strategy, provide direction, maintain budget, and implement plans to meet the ICS group and department objectives. Build strong and effective working relationships with leadership across APL to improve/maintain positive customer satisfaction. Provide leadership to section supervisors regarding all aspects of managing their staff, including recruiting, on-boarding, retention, tasking, coaching and career counseling, as well as salary and performance management. Assist in managing enterprise technical services to maintain maximum up time on all enterprise service offerings across multiple networks. Assist in implementing security compliance through Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements to ensure internal and government compliance at all time. Work closely with the Group Supervisor to design, develop, and implement group wide initiatives focused on increasing operations efficiencies and building a more collaborative, innovative work environment with a strong team culture. Assist with Group's budget to ensure spending is within targets while managing workload and coverage. Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications if you have... Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent years of professional IT work experience. At least 10+ years of IT Operations and Service Delivery experience or related field with at least 5+ of the years in a leadership role leading a highly technical cross functional IT team of 10+ staff, preferably of classified networks and systems. At least 5 years of recent experience working in DoD classified environments, with a strong working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Risk Management Framework (RMF), and the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) inspection processes, Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) and policy requirements. Proven track record of successfully passing DoD and other government agency inspections. Demonstrated skills in: leadership, strategic thinking, hiring, team and culture building, coaching, performance management and complex problem solving. Are self-motivated with exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to establish relationships and effectively communicate in both written and verbal formats with all levels of staff. A current DoD 8570 IAM Level II Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. An active Secret security clearance and have the ability to meet the requirements for obtaining a Top Secret//SCI level security clearance. A willingness and ability to work primarily onsite, occasional weekends and after hours work to handle and/or complete critical project/work-related business needs. Have advanced experience with Network Management, System Administration, Help Desk management, or Information Security. Have experience as a direct supervisor or Project Manager within a matrixed environment leading IT effort involving at least 15 people. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
