Job Summary: The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pediatric inpatient unit, ensuring quality care, and adherence to regulatory standards. This role includes managing staffing, budgets, and quality improvement initiatives, while also supervising a team of 20-60+ employees.
Essential Responsibilities: Oversee daily clinical operations, including practice standards, staffing, payroll, and budget management. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as departmental policies. Develop and implement action plans for staff development and quality improvement. Monitor and allocate personnel based on patient needs, ensuring optimal care and cost-effective services. Manage human resources, safety programs, and risk management within the unit. Collaborate with healthcare providers across units to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. Address and resolve patient and family concerns related to care delivery. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an inpatient acute care pediatric unit. At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role such as charge nurse, lead nurse, or quality improvement champion. Current California RN license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS certification strongly preferred. Bachelor s degree in Nursing preferred. Experience in a union hospital environment preferred.
