Collaborating with the Head of Technology, the Business Intelligence Engineer will design, develop, and support business intelligence solutions that turn data into actionable insights that support business decision-making, analytics, and product development. An ideal candidate should be very data-savvy, and should have solid skills in data modeling, data visualization, and overall business intelligence solutions.

Essential Job Functions Collaborate with internal business stakeholders to gather business needs, define and translate business requirements into specifications and actionable data requests. Develop detailed requirements documentation, including user stories, design specifications, data flows, and acceptance criteria. Lead data architecture efforts to structure, integrate, govern, store, describe, model, and maintain data in the enterprise for optimal accuracy and usage Design, develop, and maintain data models and scalable, automated reports, dashboards, visualizations, etc., that will support our analytical and business needs. Optimize performance of data queries and processes to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing. Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and monitoring processes Extract, transform, load, and maintain data from various sources in the data warehouse Create and handle complex SQL queries and views including those used in ETL scripts or transformations using DBT Establish and maintain standard processes for the design, development, and support of BI solutions Process, clean, and validate the integrity of data to be used for analysis Respond and resolve operational problems as necessary. Document, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day data issues Must be willing to travel 20% of time and be in the office 5 days a week Core Competencies: Resourcefulness: Accesses resources effectively and quickly to get things done; arranges information and files in a useful manner; is detail-oriented Attention to Detail: Thoroughness and precision in analyzing data, preparing reports, and executing transactions accurately Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment Problem Solving: Aptitude for identifying complex problems, formulating creative solutions, and making sound decisions under pressure Technical Competencies: Experience with relational and dimensional database modelling (Relational, Kimball, Data Vault) Strong experience designing and deploying full stack data analytics platforms including the use of cloud-based data warehouse technologies and data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP & ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks, Databricks, Delta Lake Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Integration Stack and related cloud services (Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Azure SQL Server) Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL PostgreSQL) Experience with ETL tools (e.g., DBT, Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica) Proven experience with all aspects of the Data Pipeline (Data Sourcing, Transformations, Data Quality, ETC) Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake, AWS, GCP) Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Sigma) and BI concepts Familiarity with LLMs (e.g., GPT 3.5, 4.0, Gemini, Microsoft Co-Pilot etc) Excellent technical documentation and writing skills, and have published API documentation or similar Experience with visual modelling tools including UML Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate)

Closing

Base Salary Range: $145,000 - $185,000. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company's base salary range for this position. Actual base salary range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.

Benefits: The Company provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
