**Associate Buyer**
Purchasing Mesa, Arizona Minimum Experience **Entry-level** Associate Buyer
The Associate Buyer is responsible for supporting the purchasing tasks and expediting the process for raw materials and packaging materials. They will also assist the Purchasing Manager / Buyer as they perform tasks associated with supplying materials on time at or below projected costs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage and develop key vendor relationships
* Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers.
* Examines, selects, and orders merchandise consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements.
* Compare suppliers bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy.
* Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering materials when necessary.
* Perform routine cycle counts to help maintain an accurate inventory.
* Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
* Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency.
* Collaborate with vendors to obtain or develop desired products.
* Monitor and analyze sales records, trends, or economic conditions to anticipate consumer buying patterns and determine what the company will sell and how much inventory is needed.
* Help support inbound and outbound transportation management.
QUALIFYING SKILLS REQUIREMENT:
* High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or additional college is highly preferred.
* 3-4 years of previous experience in an administrative function or assisting in the purchasing function.
* Must have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships across the business. Dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
* Must have excellent customer service skills including needs assessment, meeting quality standards of service and evaluating customer satisfaction.
* Must have the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken word or in writing.
* Must have the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
* Must have excellent time management skills.
* Must have excellent communications skills in expressing information in person and in writing.
* Must have a high level of confidentiality.
Must have excellent knowledge and skills in computers Excel, Outlook, Internet browsing and practical application of mathematics to solve problems. Knowledge of general office equipment is also required.
