Integration and alignment of our Contracts and Supply Chain efforts is essential to the continuing success of our organization. The Strategic Alignment (SA) team as part of the Alignment, Contracts, and Supply Chain Legal (AXL) organization is responsible for this integration/alignment in strategies, processes, and execution of contracts for our customer's most critical programs. SA has an opening for an Associate Director, Contracts, supporting our Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU).
This position will offer an opportunity to expand your breadth of experience, while supporting strategic initiatives and engaging across multiple programs on diverse, complex, and strategic challenges to meet our business goals.
What You Will Do:
Engage closely with Contracts Managers and Material Program Managers to improve alignment between our prime contract and subcontract scope.
Advise on prime contract Terms and Conditions (T&Cs), or on subcontract T&Cs by understanding the impact of T&Cs.
Help strengthen contracts symmetry though the value chain by aligning terms, conditions, and requirements with customers through to suppliers.
Develop and maintain trusting relationships with external and internal customers.
Communicate effectively with leaders at the Executive Director level in both Contracts and Supply Chain.
Play an essential role in Request for Proposal (RFP), capture and proposal strategy, and negotiation objectives and strategies, seeking alignment of supplier subcontracts with prime contract requirements in all phases of the pursuit.
Align program objectives and Strategic Business Unit business goals through the utilization of:
Development of Alignment Briefs based on RFPs and reviewing with Contracts and Supply Chain.
Creation of applicable Economic Price Adjustment (EPA) clauses for utilization throughout the value stream.
Conducting Better Business Deals for strategic pursuits.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience experience in Contracts and/or Supply Chain or similar or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years' experience
Experience in US Government Contracts; Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and / or Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
Qualifications We Prefer:
Advanced Degrees such as Juris Doctor (J.D.) or MBA
Experience managing suppliers and aligning supplier performance requirements to meet prime contract requirements
Ability to understand complex terms and conditions, including the ability to assess associated risk and mitigation strategies
Experience managing production, development, and sustainment contracts
Knowledge of different contracts arrangements such as FFP, FPIF, CPFF, CPIF, T&M, and LOE
Ability to understand the financial and material aspects of contracts and risk quantification
Understanding the key principles of effective negotiations, these may include, how to successfully negotiate complex efforts by managing a negotiation team, tabling issues when necessary to keep negotiations moving forward, and finding ways to resolve challenging issues without making excessive concessions
Effective communicator both orally and in writing; deep critical thinking skills; excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork and trust
Capable of multi-tasking and handling several assignments concurrently
Experience with establishing policies, procedures, job aides/tools, and automation efforts
Contractual acumen with proficiency in contracts and supply chain management fundamentals
Computer proficiency - experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and shared data bases

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 158,000 USD - 316,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
